Planning a big birthday, an anniversary or a family reunion? Belton House is a large traditional country house in Wanlockhead, Scotland’s highest village, with room for up to 20 guests and plenty to keep every generation happy – from the private indoor pool to the games room and karaoke.
Seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms (five en-suite) mean everyone has their own space, while the large kitchen, dining area and lounge bring you all together. There’s room to cook a big family meal, sit round one table and relax by the wood-burning stove afterwards.
The games room has a pool table, arcade machine and Bluetooth jukebox, and the karaoke is always a hit at birthday parties. Outside there’s a large garden and a children’s play area, so the little ones have room to run around too.
With our Full Experience option you get exclusive use of the indoor heated pool, which is attached to the house with direct access from inside, plus the hot tub, sauna and karaoke. With House Only, you can hire the hot tub, sauna and karaoke separately and book pool sessions through Lowther Leisure Facilities. Children must be supervised by an adult in the pool at all times.
Belton House sits in the Lowther Hills of Dumfries & Galloway, about an hour’s drive from Glasgow and around 1¼ hours from Edinburgh, with free parking at the house. Wanlockhead itself has hill walks, big views and lead-mining heritage to explore.
